  1. I will be back in Kent from July and want to get involved in the anti-fracking campaign. I'm based in Medway but willing to help in East Kent. I'll also be at Uni of Kent from September.

  2. Due to the increase in the perceived threat of terrorism in the early 21st century after the September 11, 2001 attacks, funding for greater HAZMAT-handling capabilities was increased throughout the United States, recognizing that flammable, poisonous, explosive, or radioactive substances in particular could be used for terrorist attacks.
The United States Department of Transportation (DOT) regulates hazmat transportation within the territory of the US by Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations.[7]
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulates the handling of hazardous materials in the workplace as well as response to hazardous-materials-related incidents, most notably through Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER).[8] regulations found at 29 CFR 1910.120.
In 1984 the agencies OSHA, EPA, USCG, NIOSH jointly published the first Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Guidance Manual[8] which is available for download, or can be purchased from the US Government Printing Office, Pub. 85-115.[9]
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulates hazardous materials as they may impact the community and environment, including specific regulations for environmental cleanup and for handling and disposal of waste hazardous materials.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission regulates hazardous materials that may be used in products sold for household and other consumer uses.
Every citizen in the united states has the right to protection from hazardous materials spent fracking fuel must be issued with the proper label and this must declare its contents and everyone working on it adequate protection.
You cannot have such a thing as a confidentiality agreement because this contravenes due process of the law.
Every veteran went to war with terrorism to protect the US citizens they have been undermined by greedy Fracking companies and bent politicians.
The law in US is there for every one of its citizens who are now being Killed in huge quantities by people who put their personnel gain before human lives.
It is time to show the US veterans they didn't die in vain.
The irony is that very law to prevent terrorism has been used against the US citizens by the Political and Fracking Companies these are the real terrorists people who can legally defy US Law and gag you whilst they do it.
Mr. Peter Baxter 31 Springate Road, Southwick, Brighton, BN42 4LF uk 01273 594588 PS I am a retired veteran who spent three years fighting terrorism in the middle east only to find I have an even bigger fight at home.
    With even worse terrorists.

  5. I don't understand why people object to controlled fracking. I am an environmentalist, I've studied environmental science at post grad level and I do think about these issues. I am now retired and have no commercial interest in fracking whatsoever. I have spent most of my career reducing waste and energy consumption in heavy industry. However, it seems to me that many people object to any change, that the language used is too emotive and the objections are often based on old practices. One question I have is what would anti-fracking protestors like to see happen? Please don't tell me wind farms (especially on-shore); the wind doesn't always blow and the disruption required to even approach the amount of power is immense. Nuclear seems to me the obvious choice but there are protests against this and no one has seemed able to make a decision for years. Tidal power also an obvious area to promote but people object to any restriction to large rivers. We don't want to use coal (I agree), we need to reduce energy consumption (I agree) and we need to act fast (I agree). Power consumption is the UK may fall a little in coming years but we are running out of practical options to supply what will be needed. At present we import electricity from France where nuclear generation is common. We now have to look at a Chinese/French option for a possible nuclear power station where the UK used to be a world leader in the field. By all means object but as I stated many times to people, 'don't just give us the problem, give the solution'.
